Conferences and Work
Nick Adams was inspired to create Indian Camp by witnessing a lady giving birth during the Greco-Turkish War. Hemmingway had a similar experience, but the only similarities include that the husband was present, the birth was performed in a raw setting, and a terrified child was present. The two men have the same tale structure, but their scenarios are different. Nick wonders at the end of the story if death was difficult, much as Hemmingway contemplated suicide.
@Glucas I went back and put it on the correct page. Thought I had did it a few minutes before class but I guess not.
Again, I do not understand your first sentence. And your entry is out of order. Please make those corrections. Thanks.
@Glucas Hey, I just wanted to know if you saw that I put my annotated bibliography in alphabetical order this time, since my grade for it is still a 0. I did it last Wednesday. Hope you have a great day!
Yes, but I still do not understand the first sentence. It needs revision, please.
For my project I want write summary of the story ‘Indian Camp’.
@DPatel well we talked about this in class. Also, see the other discussion about this. Summaries are 'not enough by themselves.
Yes sir, I should work on another.
you missed my project assignment details on my user page
you missed my project assignment as well.
@Admin I saw my grade for this was a zero but I posted it last night in the wrong location and went back and corrected it before class today.
Hey i also have mine posted on my page.
Project 1 Assignment Question
For my project one assignment, can I do "content expansion and revision" and if so, would all I be doing is going to one of the stories we've read and edit it?
@Jojo1221: That's a bit vague—I would be even more specific. What content do you want to expand? You may not know this until you begin your research; that's why it's imperative that you do so today. Yes, it must be on a story (or song) that we have covered in class.
For project one I would like to do theme explanation of Indian Camp.
death and growth
I've chosen to write a plot summary for the story "Indian Camp".
Could I write a plot summary for "Babylon Revisited"?
is it possible to write about the use of western medicine in "Indian Camp"?
Good day, class. I would like to us to try to communicate via these talk pages, especially if I leave you a note. As I said: you really should be practicing on the wiki daily. Procrastination will only hurt you in the end, so work now! I have made small corrections to all of your sources in your sandboxes; please have a look and be sure you know what I did. (The journal template uses "author" but it should use "last" and "first" instead. I posted links to the book and journal templates on our course page.)
Remember: you have a proposal for your project 1 due Monday. I have added a sample on to User:Jhary. It needn’t be anything too in-depth at this point, but an idea of what you’re working on. Again, this is due Monday before class. Some of you cannot afford to miss another of these assignments, so be sure you do this one. (This should be the minimum you do on the wiki before Monday. Everyone should begin working on his or her project or making fixes or updates. All wiki work will help you.)
I would appreciate an acknowledgement of this post by everyone. Just reply below. Thanks, and have a good weekend.
Thank you as well
Thank you for the correction, now I know how to properly do it for next time!
Thanks for informing me on my corrections in wiki.
