The Woman in the South Bronx

As small of a part as she was, she served a purpose. The woman in the south Bronx served as a cross section of what life in New York is like. She is incorporated into the play to show Hannah Porter Pitt that life is not perfect, not everyone is perfect, and not to under estimate people. When Hannah is lost and looking for the the mormon welcome center, she is shocked at how the homeless woman, who can barely complete a sentence, could possibly know where it is.
