You have to structure a good paper so that the opening sentence to a paragraph details what the rest of the paragraph is going to be like and what you will discuss in that paragraph. Good formal wrtiting has no to few surprises and topic sentences allow direction from the beginning of the paragraph. ~ M. Nowell
