Hecuba is the Queen of Troy and the mother of Hector. | Hecuba is the Queen of [[Troy]] and the mother of Hector, [[Paris]], and Cassandra among others. Hecuba is the daughter of Dymas and wife of [[Priam]]. When Troy falls, she is given to [[Odysseus]] as a prize and has to watch as her daughter, Polyxena, is sacrificed at the tomb of [[Achilles]]. She is also the central character in two surviving plays of [[Euripides]], the ''Hecuba'', which is undated, and ''The Trojan Women'' (415 BC). |
