How is Medea powerful as a women?

Medea is a very powerful woman. She is cleaver and also speaks her mind. Medea is the first woman to act like she does not need a man by her side. She does everything for Jason: saved his life and became disloyal to her father and home (463). Medea is also shown powerful killing the King and his daughter along with her children.
